Official pool billiard competitions are organized under the auspices of the CMBA (Czech-Moravian Billiard Association), which covers pool billiards, carom, and snooker.
To participate you must be a CMBA member through a registered club. Within Brno we are the only registered pool billiard club – nearby alternatives include TJ Sokol Hodonín and Royal Jihlava.
Competitions follow strict sporting rules: no alcohol, mandatory dress code (Dress Code B – shoes, black trousers, polo shirt with club name), and game etiquette. Events are held on selected weekends as one- or two-day tournaments.
Czech Pool Tour
The main individual competition in pool billiards, consisting of regional qualifiers followed by a national round (usually in Prague).
CMPL – Czech-Moravian Pool League (Moravia region)
Held directly in Brno at Čajovna Utopia. Consists of four rounds in the first half of the year (one-day Saturday tournaments starting at 10:00). Each round features a different discipline: 9-ball, 10-ball, 8-ball and 14.1 Continuous. Each round also serves as a qualifier for the national round the following Sunday.
Team competitions
The first half of the year also features popular team competitions. A team match consists of three individual games in 8-ball, 9-ball and 10-ball. Clubs may enter multiple teams.
National Championships
The season culminates in the autumn with weekend National Championships for individuals, women and seniors – in all four disciplines. Open to every registered CMBA player.
